Hello,
I have a problem with the software WinX DVD Ripper Platinum. I have a DVD that lasts 2 hours and 9 minutes, and when I try to save it, the result gives me a video of only 5 minutes, and I only have the picture with no sound. Can anyone help me?
Thank you in advance.

Hello,
Let's say that without knowing more, it's impossible...
You need to know the characteristics of the original file... which is likely for copying a commercial DVD with "Copyright"... it certainly seems like it's akin to piracy of the authors... and there seems to be a protection system in place (that works).
We do not participate in anything that is illegal. -

OK, so who created this DVD? Is it you or the TV channel, or someone else? What kind of file is it? What are the three letters that come after the last dot? Like AVI or MP4 for example.
This site says it rips a DVD to MP4 in five minutes https://www.winxdvd.com/dvd-ripper-platinum/
If you took the trial version, it might be limited to five minutes? It probably doesn't copy the entire DVD...
There are certainly settings... which ones did you choose? The image might be present...?? But you can't see it because you're watching it in a different standard or with the wrong codec...?
Are you looking on a PC or a TV...?
Download and install "Mediainfo" on your PC https://mediaarea.net/fr/MediaInfo go to your file (in Windows Explorer) right click on your DVD movie file then ==> View ==> Text you copy all the text and paste it here...-

Hello, when I right-click on DVD RW (E:) DVD_RECORDER, I don't have a View tab. It's true that it's a 30-day trial version and that might have an influence as not all features are available. I took a photo of what I get when I right-click. I can send it to you by email if you want.

You need to be a member to post an image... But you can also upload your image on the site cjoint.com https://cjoint.com/ and provide the link here so that I can see it...
You can get the link at the bottom of the page.
However, you are not answering any of my other questions, which does not help the progress of the topic. -

I checked the Mediainfo of this file... but the parameters are a disaster... there can't be a decent result
-- The video duration is 23 hours and 30 minutes, there is definitely an error (from the film and the DVD), it should be 2 hours and 30 minutes
-- The bitrate is 83.7 Kbps, which cannot produce valid images (at least 477 Kbps is needed to divide the total DVD duration by 2 hours and 30 minutes) and it will result in low-quality video
-- The whole film is only 844 MB, which is nothing for 23 hours; it should at least use the entire DVD, or around 4.3 GB, so 1.7 GB per hour..
-- Encoding in MPEG-PS is not the best choice for compression to optimize... let's say an MP4 or XVID H264 would be better..
In short, this is proof that someone made settings on this software for this video, but it was not wise at all... so it needs to be redone by adjusting these parameters much better.. I've already pointed out some important points... -
I came back earlier than expected. So I'd like to know in Winx, under the general menu profiles, which option should I choose? I had selected "MP4 video". Then for the bitrate, I couldn't find where to make the settings, where is it located? My DVD is 2 hours and 10 minutes long, but I want to make some cuts to shorten it. For that, I need to be able to record my DVD onto my computer. Since I'm not familiar with Winx, that's why I'm reaching out to you.

I don't know this software either... but I know how video encoding works
Check out this tutorial https://www.winxdvd.com/help/how-to-use-dvd-ripper-platinum-fr.htm
It clearly states The trial version is limited to 5 minutes of video conversion for evaluation purposes.
You'd better use this 'free' one https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/tv-video/8305-dvd-shrink/
It does extraction/ripping but not re-encoding... let's say that after extraction on your PC, you can edit, cut, and assemble as you wish, and when you're done, you can think about saving it to... I don't know what... re-encoded in MP4 for example.
