Switching from Intel to AMD: are there software compatibility issues?

Hello,

I am currently using a computer with Intel (6th generation i7) and the latest OS, Windows 10. I will soon build a new computer that will most likely use an AMD Ryzen 7 processor.

For almost 6 years, I have been using software whose license is on a Sentinel USB key. Its latest version dates from 2015. It was developed for Windows XP, Vista and Seven (according to the user manual), but it still works very well on Windows 10.

My question: Since it is an old software, is there a risk that it suddenly becomes incompatible if I use a recent AMD processor?

    Hello,
    a processor does not affect software compatibility; it has nothing to do with it, it’s only the version of Windows that matters, whether it is compatible with the software or not.
