Hello,
I have an Asus R540L laptop and I would like to upgrade my RAM. Knowing that this model already has 4 GB of soldered RAM on the motherboard and that the maximum RAM capacity is 12 GB, with an empty RAM slot available.
My questions:
- Am I required to install an equivalent stick, meaning 4 GB, of the same brand, frequency, and latency as the one already on the motherboard?
- Can I install an 8 GB stick to reach the maximum capacity of 12 GB for my laptop? If yes, do I need to target the same brand as the existing 4 GB stick?
