Hello.
How do you make accented capital letters in Excel?
I use Excel more than Word. The problem is that I now have a laptop (>8-(( for teleworking!) so without a numeric keypad. Some shortcuts work in Word, but none in Excel. Just to be able to write French in uppercase. I don't know how to make a capital c-cedilla in either Word or Excel.
Can you help me?
Thank you in advance

Hello,

All capital letters with accents can be typed directly from the keyboard, except for É.
You type the accent first and then the capital letter.
(The grave accent is created using the key combination Altgr + 7)

For É:
- If your computer has a numeric keypad, type Alt + 0201
- Otherwise, you need to use the Character Map from Microsoft (in Accessories). I recommend creating a shortcut in the taskbar.

Similarly, Ç is obtained with Alt + 0199 or through the Character Map.
Normally, ç is on the keyboard (key 9)

What one clearly conceives is clearly expressed,
And the words to express it come easily.

Hello, and happy New Year 2021!

There are also, fortunately, external numeric keypads with USB connection.

This solves all your problems!

Hello,

if you have the right to install utilities, you could check http://wincompose.info/
You get all these characters with easy-to-memorize mnemonics.
For example, for Ç it's AltGr C,
For É it's AltGr E '

By continuously trying, we eventually succeed.
So the more it fails, the more chances we have that it will work. (the Shadoks)
In addition to the thank you (yes, it happens!!!), remember to mark it as resolved. Thank you

Thank you all. I tried, except that I still need to get the admin rights on this PC. Well, I'll check with the boss, but that will wait until next year, it's not urgent ;)

In Excel, simply go to INSERT/Symbols/Symbol with [Font = Normal Text].

I unfortunately believe that this is the only solution. I may be repeating myself, but my Macintosh keyboard is very good.
Thank you, Raymond.

Hello

 my Macintosh keyboard

This information comes a bit too late.
If you had given it at the beginning, I wouldn't have wasted time talking to you about PC keyboards, since the computer is not a PC (see definition on Wikipedia).

Yes, yes, it is one, Pierr10. I have an iMac at home, but I had to get a portable PC as well, without a numeric keypad, due to remote work. Two separate worlds.
