Mail collection issue

Hello,

On one of my Gmail addresses, I can no longer retrieve mail on my iPad tablet.
When I check the updates and open the details,
a window opens and tells me 'unable to retrieve mail, the IMAP mail server .gmail.com is not responding.'
I am asked to verify the correctness of the account information entered
in the mail settings.
Can you help me?

    Hello,

    Try to delete your account and then re-register it. To do this, go to Settings > Passwords and Accounts > Your Gmail account and tap Remove Account.

    Then, tap Add a New Account > Google. Once logged into your Gmail account, choose the items to sync in addition to the emails.
