Well, here we go again, it’s been 4 days since Freewifi secure has gone down again,

It’s now December 12, 2020, and the connection is not establishing, (even though it says the network is available, it still won’t connect.)

I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but just before I got disconnected from Freewifi_secure, I received a message from Free saying that my last bill was rejected for payment, and it's been less than 10 minutes since I received that message that I see I can no longer access it (since Friday afternoon).

Hello, to reassure you, the problem isn't with the SIM card. Since Friday, I haven't had freewifi secure. When testing today on another phone, I managed to connect (it's on an iPhone 5s).
But I can't connect on the iPhone 6s.. maybe there’s an option in the settings that needs to be turned on/off? Or is it only compatible with certain devices? (I hope not haha)

It’s been ten days since it hasn’t been working... This is the first time it’s been this long for me. Usually it lasts 2 or 3 days at most.
It's getting annoying. I tried calling Free, but I couldn't reach anyone, and I think it’s pointless anyway.

Hi, I called Free this Wednesday, December 23, and I was told, after verification, and with certainty, that the service has been discontinued. The FreeWifi_secure is no more.

Does anyone else want to call to have it confirmed?

In any case, there's still no possible connection, and I indeed think it’s over.

Yeah, when I asked the operator, she told me that the site wasn't updated yet, but that the service is no longer available in the 2 euro plan. I didn't ask about the other plans.
A cut of more than 2 weeks seems to confirm the end of the service, but indeed, no official written communication.

FreeWifi_secure is finished.

Don't be so categorical! For me, it works very well and there hasn't been any service interruption (Free Mobile subscriber at €15.99)

It's very difficult to get reliable information on forums, due to some internet users confusing FreeWifi and FreeWifi_Secure.

I read on another forum:

Warning: FreeWiFi in general is not emitted by Freeboxes on IPV6 connection (shared IPV4 or FullStack), whether it's via xDSL or fiber.
 On the other hand, FreeWiFi_secure is emitted by all Freeboxes as soon as the WiFi module is activated.

So with the deployment of fiber, it seems that FreeWifi is losing ground, and if any network should disappear, it's that one.

Moreover, there are several testimonies saying that FreeWifi_Secure will no longer be accessible for the small mobile plan at €2. This remains to be confirmed and there has been no official announcement (to my knowledge)

I also believe that we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that FreeWifi and FreeWifi_Secure services are intended for Freebox subscribers.
