Hello,
I have a USB drive where I put movies to watch on TV and I don't understand why after a certain number of films it shows me "unidentified codec" even though I'm using the VLC player. What should I do?
Configuration: Windows / Chrome 85.0.4183.102

Hello
Codecs are the coding formats used for your videos, which are generally made by others than you ;-)
Your TV doesn't always know how to read all these codecs (the list of which can be found in your TV's documentation, such as AVI, DivX, Xvid, Mp4, etc...)
Sometimes updating your TV's firmware can improve the result a bit.
But the only solution for a codec not supported by your TV is to recode the relevant video file(s) yourself... It's a lot of work!!
If you're looking for software capable of performing this recoding, there's FormatFactory Free, but you need a good machine.
Cheers
If this answer helped you: a little thank you is nice. If it's resolved: the green button at the top is better ;-)
Let him who has never opened a user manual throw the first mouse.
