Hello,
I am a student and I have access to Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I can access it for free as I downloaded it from MSDNAA, not from the official Microsoft website (this will be important later). Since my DVD drive is not functioning properly, I am looking to put my Windows 7 .iso file onto a USB flash drive to boot from it. I am using the built-in Windows software for this purpose, but at the end of the file copying process, I am informed that bootsect.exe is missing (the rest of the files have been copied correctly) to make my USB drive bootable. I was redirected to online help, and there it states that bootsect.exe can be found on the Microsoft site if Windows 7 was downloaded from there, which is not my case.
How can I retrieve the bootsect.exe file?
If it's not possible, how can I make my USB flash drive bootable?
