Hello,

the last cable to connect to my PC is the Power Switch.

It comes from the case, I've checked its placement in the JF1 plug on the motherboard using the motherboard manual. There are also the power LEDs, which I have connected.

Anyway, it’s not working. The computer turns on when I set the power supply to "1" instead of "0", and it shuts down through Windows. The power switch is useless.

Obviously, this bothers me, but I haven't found a solution. I'm reading about BIOS issues, bugs, or complicated malfunctions, but nothing on simpler things, and in my opinion, it shouldn't be a major problem. There must be a simpler solution.
Any ideas?

Hello,
if the power switch isn't working, it's either because it's not connected properly or it's defective. Try using the reset instead of the power switch (usually there's a reset button available).

Hello again!
Unless I made a mistake, I don't have a reset button on this locker.
Everything was working in the other box.

I hope I'm not responsible for a false manipulation that might have burned the switch.

From what I understand in the manual, it needs to be plugged in here:

or in the same direction but on the other side; it is extremely poorly indicated in the manual.

I'm trying to respond clearly with all the information; thanks for your info, it has resolved almost everything but I find it frankly weird
:

It's crazy, in the manual, with the picture of the top of the motherboard, it really seems that 1-2 is at the "top", and therefore that the power button is at the bottom, since in the picture from above we have placed the pins at the bottom. I don't understand why they turn everything upside down three times.
In any case:
- I placed the power at the top (photo of the top of the motherboard), and it's working
- the LEDs, I don't know, I placed them at the "bottom" (normally pin 15-16), and it doesn't do anything yet.
I don't understand why they present all this like that. It’s poorly done!

It's weird isn't it? Is there danger? I'm still going to unplug the power supply completely tonight

Now I've placed the LEDs by swapping +/- since apparently the manual shows everything backwards, we have to do everything backwards. AND YES the button is backlit so that's good.... but it turned on the computer without me pressing the power button.

I did a few power tests to see if there’s a logic:
- if I remove the cable behind the power supply and plug it back in, it turns on the computer. Why is that?
- normal restart / sleep mode the button allows me to exit it so normal
- if the cable stays in the computer, I can normally turn it off and turn it on with the button. But I still don’t understand why removing and reinserting the cable (wall -> power supply) in the power supply makes the computer turn on!

If you left a connector plugged in under the power switch, it could restart by itself.

I just added the LEDs and HDD lights, that's all.
HOWEVER
I haven't changed the position of the HDD LEDs yet, considering that everything is upside down, and the HDD LEDs could therefore be on Reset right now.
