G200 Neo no longer alerts after update

Hello,
Since my last update, my G200 Neo no longer alerts me, or does so erratically. It doesn't warn me about fixed speed cameras anymore, but I tested it on a traffic light camera and it announced "danger 50km/h." This announcement is normal, but why isn't it working for the others? Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 79.0

      Thank you yopsolo,
Would it be abusing your kindness if I asked you to help me use this file? (Give me the procedure.)
      Best regards.

      Hello Jcp,

      first, thanks to yopsolo,
to insert a tbn file, you need to connect your box with the USB cable,
open the application and once connected, in the update tab,
there's an automatic point and a manual point
you check manual and go to the danger zone to choose the file from its location and update
However, to download the file, it's with Mozilla Firefox.
Can we know the date of the update please?

      Hi François,

So it's good because my browser is Mozilla Firefox.
Unfortunately, this morning my wife left for work with the box.
This evening I'll do the manipulation and I'll only be able to tell you tomorrow evening if it works.
In the meantime, thank you François and Yopsolo for "staying on the case" lol.

I specify for the Firefox browser because I had a hard time understanding how to download it.
I tried it this morning. For now, I'm very satisfied,
although we don't know when the update was released and if we will have others. Well, it's already much better!

      Hello François,

I just updated following your instructions.
Everything is working fine and the file is properly in the file bar at the top of the danger zones frame.
However, the button remains on "explore" and I don't know if when I clicked on "open," the file was actually saved since it still says "update required."

If I click on the main button (at the bottom), it starts the update, but it remains in orange (update required) in the danger zones frame.
Did I miss something or is everything okay?
      Best regards.

I think it's dead because apparently very few of us are complaining.
It's strange that there aren't more users trying to understand what's going on.
I had a G200neo and I was also updating a G600 for an elderly neighbor who doesn't have internet access.
The G600 that the new company is selling is exactly the same as before with a different name.
    Same for the G200

Here is my response on the new thread.
I'm reposting it here in case other readers don't want to go to the newly created topic.

    Hello,
Good initiative to have created this topic.
In fact, it's more serious than that. If the new Spanish company had decided not to honor the commitments of the former Wikango, there would be no more radar additions when we update, but we would still have those that existed before. However, when we did the last update, we were injected, I believe intentionally, with a faulty database that aims to render our devices obsolete.
I think the goal of this dishonesty is to push us to acquire new devices from the new company.
I hope that other users who have also been deceived will join us.
If anyone is familiar with the workings of the various consumer protection organizations, it would be good for us to consider launching a procedure.
    Sincerely,
    jcp40

      Hello,
AlerteGps, WIKANGO, G200Neo, database update, danger zones, lifetime update, etc... The update has led to the obsolescence of the G200Neo, and there's no response from WIKANGO regarding this issue, sabotage?
If the problem is not resolved in the coming days and within a reasonable timeframe, we will indeed have to seek support from a consumer association. If a valid update becomes available, please let us know.
      Best regards.

        Hello,
It can only be sabotage since we went from a version that was almost up to date to a completely ridiculous version with absurd alerts that were certainly meant to make us realize that it no longer worked.

I just sent another email to Wikango, here is the content, I invite you to report your problem to them again.

    Update G200Néo.
    ***@***

    Hello,

I am following up on my request. I am the owner of two G200Néo devices for which the manufacturer had committed to a lifetime update of the data. You have acquired this brand and still offer free updates for the G200Néo, which seems reasonable to me. Unfortunately, these updates render these devices unable to signal danger zones (in a bizarre manner).

I therefore kindly ask you to correct your database so that I can at least regain the signalization of the danger zones that I had before, which will also allow other users to make use of their devices rendered obsolete by the update you offer online.

A topic opened on a forum addresses this anomaly, and the various contributors are awaiting a response.

    Best regards.

    Hello,
I just updated, and the device is indicating danger zones when I'm on the opposite lane! Not happy at all. Thank you for shedding some light on this.

    Same for me.
The updates from Wikango have made the device unusable for now as some danger zones are not being reported, and it alerts in certain places for no reason. Why is that?
Will this issue be fixed with an update?

    Hello,

I think many of us must have the same problem.
Wikango has been bought by a Spanish company that now sells our devices but at a much higher price.
In my opinion, they have intentionally injected a "hacked" database to render the old devices inoperable in order to push us to buy new ones from them.
This is just my opinion, but I am almost convinced that's the case.
    Best regards,

I was thinking something like that because the update done in early August had the effect of removing all the alerts on my g200. (Just as the holidays were starting, great!!!). So in September, I bought a newer product, the wikango 600.
I updated them both at the same time in early September and that’s when I understood that it came from the database and not from the device. Maybe the database wasn't part of the sale of wikango to the competitor. I might be naïve in hoping that a miraculous update will come to fix the database; I really like my device so fingers crossed...
      Best regards

Have you tried updating the old one based on the new one provided?
I'm just about to buy a device from the new Spanish company, and after registering my new device, I'll attempt to update the old one using the new database.

No, each device has its own software and yes, they alert the same areas. They have the same data. I tried them together.

    Good evening,
In summary, since the last proposed updates, the G200 neo no longer serves to indicate danger zones or does so incongruously. Upon purchase, alerteGPS included free lifetime updates, and Wikango, which has taken over, must continue this service. With the latest updates, Wikango has sabotaged our devices. They do not respond to messages sent on their website.
It would be possible to reset the device if we had the latest functional update: DB File (*.tbn); if someone has this database ...
    Best regards.

It's exactly what I think too. The new company deliberately injected us with a fake database, which is indeed quite outlandish, so that we would buy their models. What is abnormal is that they created a database to remove all the areas we had in the second to last version we had on the device. At least if they had stopped adding new radars by saying they had gone bankrupt, we would have had to say amen!! But instead, they "infected" our devices.

Am I wrong or do I feel like there is no hope?
This concerns all Wikango devices because both my G200 and my 600 are infected! It's a bit frustrating because it's a good device, well, it used to be...

    Is that the contact address?
Should we try to contact them?
    For me, it's g200 v2 and w600
However, where can we find and how to update if we had a DB File (*.tbn)?

I don't know if we can get them to react! It's still frustrating!
If we had the file, we could upload it manually using the software.
    Best regards.

Honestly, I think it's dead for the devices from the old company. If there were hundreds of customers complaining, there might have been some weight to take action, but as it stands... we're not many, and it’s even strange.
What is almost certain is that there was a desire from the old, or the new company, to sabotage the old versions; otherwise, we all would have the latest version we downloaded. There was indeed a corrupted database that was injected into us at one point or another.
