Hello,
I have an Easy Share Z7590 camera and I just bought a new memory card:
MAX'L microSDHC 32 GB model.
I have tried several times to format the memory card, but the camera won't do it.

What could be the reason? Could it be incompatible?

With sincere thanks.

    Good evening,

The technical sheet of this device states its SD memory as 28 megabytes, which is strange; I suppose it refers to the device's internal mini memory... and that the SD is additional..

-- I assume it doesn’t support certain formats, and it may need an SDXC instead of SDHC..??

So, try formatting it on your camera first and by removing the button that locks the formatting, on the side of the card itself...

If that doesn’t work, you can format it on your PC with the software "SDformatter"
    https://sd-card-formatter.fr.uptodown.com/windows
It performs a true FAT32 formatting, which is not the case with Windows..

    Hello,
Thank you for your guidance, however, I managed to format the card on my computer with SD Card Formatter.
But this formatting does not suit the camera which still cannot format it.
The issue must be elsewhere; perhaps with the model of the card...
    Sincere thanks for your assistance.
    Bye.

Yes... You can't always guess right away without seeing the thing...

-- I also provided other indications that should be checked:

Including the small write protection switch, which is on the side of the SD card, see explanation and photo here https://recoverit.wondershare.fr/partition-tips/remove-write-protection-on-sd-cards.html

It is also possible that your card is not a card but a piece of plastic to simulate the camera's SD card

An SDXC card might be preferable to an SDHC, which is not as fast for photos and videos.

You should also know the type of formatting required by this camera..??

Here is the user guide https://resources.kodak.com/support/shtml/fr/manuals/urg00386/urg00386toc.shtml there are a bit more details than in the manual...

However, the capacity of the SD card seems very low... the maximum indicated is 512 MB
That is to say 64 times less than your card...
I also read that the size of the SD card would be a maximum of 2GB or 2GB... so here's an indication to follow...

    Good evening,
I finally got the explanation from a retailer, namely that all current cards have a capacity much higher than what my camera can accept.
All I have left to do is look for remaining stocks of cards with a maximum of 2 GB.

    Thank you again.
