Hello

My Samsung TV is 14 years old so no planned obsolescence, I want to switch to a connected TV with reasonable watt consumption. I am with Orange and their decoder is often faulty, so if someone can steer me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!

In order to do without the set-top box and even the Box entirely (I have a current case, network has been down for 6 months and connection via a 4G box that won’t listen to any talk about TV), the TV must be able to connect to the operator's TV app via LAN or Wi-Fi.

On TVs running on Android or Google TV, you can install pretty much whatever you want; when there is a skin (for example Samsung with Tizen), the situation is tricky and goes through Samsung via an account and/or a utility to be able to download the app in question.

From the operator's side, there can also be restrictions, depending on the subscription, possible subscription to a Multi TV package.

The safest situation is to favor an Android TV, often more expensive.

    Hello

Thank you for your reply, but does it require an internet connection?

      Hello,

Yes, of course, a smart TV implies an Internet connection, at least via a 4G box or the sharing of a phone's connection.
