Hello,
you receive the messages if someone calls you and the bubble tells you that someone has called you
Configuration: Windows / Firefox 76.0

I had the problem on my Galaxy A70 Android 10 everything was correct in settings and Messenger
and I just cleared the default values in the Messenger app in
1) smartphone settings
2) Apps
3) Messenger
4) default settings
5) and clear defaults
and then there was no more ringtone problem when someone calls me on Messenger I can hear it
I was receiving messages with the message ringtone if someone called me the bubbles would tell me that someone called me with just the messaging ringtone and not the normal ringtone of the smartphone.
