Hello,

I don't understand why my Epson 635 printer uses only the PBK cartridge and not the BK? I'm even more disappointed because the number of copies is higher with the BK cartridge.
Can anyone please help me?

Can you specify how you start your printing? From a direct photocopy from the machine? From a PC print?
With what tool? Have you checked the "quality" settings for the print? Indeed, if the quality is high or set to "photo" ... it will use the PBK.

  First of all, I cannot print if all the cartridges are not in place.

    If the quality settings are correct, you can also check the paper settings. Sometimes printers get a bit overzealous and declare the paper as "good" for photo printing and automatically use the PBK, I've had that happen with Epson ones too...

    Hello, thank you very much, it was indeed a problem coming from the printer. It got a bit overzealous after a reboot and changed the paper quality. Thanks again for all the good advice.

  I believe you did not understand me. The two cartridges are in my printer. The Bk cartridge should function as a priority, whereas it is the pbk, which is used primarily for photos, that is being used.

  It's not about "making a mistake" but about reading before making absurd statements. When someone claims that it doesn't take the cartridge and that there's nothing we can do here, that's not helping and, above all, it's completely off the mark since it does take both cartridges by default and both are necessary.
  
  Just because I am a "moderator" doesn't mean I always intervene as such. I am a moderator when I moderate. I remain a user and participant first and foremost. ;-)
  
  And there's a difference between criticizing and stating a fact. When I have a doubt or I'm not sure: I check rather than assert!
