Hello,
I'm trying to launch virtualization so that I can then install Linux Mint. However, I get this error message:

This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU, but only detected an i686 CPU. Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU

I have tried to enable Intel VT in the BIOS but I can't find it...
I also tried changing some settings in VirtualBox as indicated in several forums but it doesn't change the issue.

I tried the 32-bit version and that works...
Yet I am currently on 64, and my computer tells me that I am on an ACPI x64-based PC
(no idea what that means).

So theoretically it should have worked with the 64 version...
Should I try to install the 64 version directly without virtualization, by booting from the USB?
Or am I really on 32-bit, and if so, why is my Windows on 64?

Thanks, I've been struggling since last night...

    Hello,
You need to enable virtualization in the BIOS.

Take photos of your BIOS tabs and post them here.
