Windows 7 update stuck at 35% Solved

Question

Hello everyone, I'm reaching out because I've been having a problem since this afternoon.I started my PC, and it installed an update. The update loaded to 100% but then got stuck for a while, so I ended up restarting my PC. Since then, when it restarts, the update now gets stuck at 35% (and it starts directly from 35%) and everything I've tried so far has failed. I tried safe mode, but again the update starts directly at 35% and doesn't progress.I also tried booting from a restore point, but unfortunately I don't have any... Do you have any other solutions to suggest? I'm a bit stressed; I'm afraid of losing everything... Thanks in advance.

Good evening, you can try this: when starting Windows, tap F8 and then:    then go to last known good configuration. That said, it's strange that Windows updates are causing everything to crash on Seven..... Knowing that there haven't been any since January 2020. See you later!

Hi,  The antivirus can cause problems. Which one do you have?  Knowing that Windows 7 is no longer supported. You are supposed to upgrade to Windows 10.  If you're interested:  To start, back up important documents. For example, on an external hard drive. Hello, Is your OS cracked or not? On a cracked OS, Microsoft had some fun with the latest updates before support ended to mess with their installation. They could have shut off access to everyone a long time ago, but they didn't; instead, they reserved the right to stir things up a bit at the end, they must have had a good laugh. In any case, they really annoyed me on several machines before I understood their scheme. Sneaky bastards! I also find it quite delicate on their part to throw in that little hitch at the end, it was all fair game.... On the other hand, whether on an official OS or a cracked one, Microsoft had issues about 3 years ago with a poorly written update that damaged one of the Windows Updates libraries. As a result, many people had to download a utility of about 500 MB that fixed the infamous library. About 2 hours to install the software, but in the end, everything went back to normal. The problem wasn't the same as yours because, in that case, Windows Update couldn't find any updates even though there were some to install. Yours is stuck. That said, check if there's a utility meant to fix your problem. Before that, you can always try this: Open the command prompt as "Administrator," very important. Enter the command "sfc scannow" The command will scan the Windows Updates library and repair it if it needs to. Good luck.

Thank you all for your replies. In the end, after leaving the PC running overnight on those famous 35% of the update, the next day my PC was successfully started. I don't know if the update has really been completed because I still have a message saying that an update is available, but I'm not touching anything.  I will consider upgrading to Windows 10 thanks to the links you shared with me. Thank you very much!
