Task Manager - Multiple Applications & Processes

Hello,

For a while now, I’ve noticed my laptop is slowing down, which you can see here:

https://www.backmarket.be/asus-r752l-17-core-i5-22-ghz-hdd-500-go-ram-8-go-pas-cher/45453.html

I bought it years ago and I use it only for the internet and to play not very resource-heavy games like League of Legends.

However, I’m noticing it’s slowing down (it’s getting old, but still usable) and in the task manager, there are processes/programs that are open in duplicate, triplicate, or even quadruple, it can go up to a lot, and I think that’s linked to the slowdown of my PC.

Does anyone know how to help me or inform me?
I manage to try to keep the PC clean with Windows Defender scans, ccleaner, I keep the few drivers I have updated, etc. xD so any good help would be welcome!

    Hello,

Install "Real Temp" or "Coretemp" to monitor the temperature of your computer.
Check how high the computer's temperature rises during use. It should not exceed 60 degrees Celsius. If possible, attach a screenshot of the software to the message.

    Then

To check your computer for possible infections and get a general status of the system:

Follow the FRST tutorial by clicking on this blue link. ( take your time to read carefully - everything is well explained there ).

Download and run the FRST scan,
Wait for the scan to finish; a message will indicate that the analysis is complete.

Three FRST reports will be generated:
    • FRST.txt
    • Shortcut.
    • Additionnal.txt

Send these 3 reports to the site https://pjjoint.malekal.com/ and return the 3 pjjoint links leading to the reports here in a new response so that we can review them.

(The blue links lead to step-by-step explanatory tutorials, click on them for more detailed instructions to follow).

    There is a cooling issue.
    > 65 degrees.
Clean the inside of the PC, the fan, and ventilation.

    To uninstall:
    CCleaner
    CCleaner Browser (useless)
    CCleaner Update Helper (useless)
    McAfee Security Scan Plus
MEGAsync (unless you are syncing with it)

CCleaner is not really useful, even though it is recommended everywhere.
If you want to keep it, disable CCleaner monitoring, it starts up with Windows and slows it down with its constant cleanups, see: https://www.malekal.com/supprimer-ccleaner-demarrage-windows/
Also, remember to disable data sending in the CCleaner options. They send information to the Avast! servers.

I did it, I took the PC apart piece by piece and cleaned everything.

I also uninstalled useless apps, disabled as much stuff as possible at startup, and I can already feel that the PC is responding better, but the issue with processes opening in a loop is still present :/

For example, to open Discord, when I click on it, it doesn’t open. I have to go to the task manager, end the task for the program to completely close, then reopen it and that’s when it launches.

      Bugs like that,

      Thanks for your help bro!

How high do the temperatures rise without playing?
        Uninstall CCleaner Browser.

It seems a little better, yes.
If it's 75 degrees when you play, that seems normal.

Then you launch your game with a web browser open in the background, that doesn't help.

No, no, I've been playing on this computer for years, I know the little tricks to gain a few FPS lol xD

So, is it normal for stuff to be open multiple times X, in your opinion?

    Sure, thanks bro!

Right now, the scroll bar for going down or up is acting up, it keeps scrolling down on its own when my mouse is pointed in the folder frame in question,

I have the impression that all the Windows pages on my PC have this bug, like the Start menu, documents, control panel, etc., really the basic programs of the PC

    Can you help me?

Start with the advanced recovery options by method 1 from this page: Windows Advanced Recovery Options.
The principle is to restart on the page where it asks for the password, with the icon at the bottom right and while holding the shift key.

If you do NOT reach the window where Windows asks for passwords, due to a blockage or crash beforehand...
Turn off the computer twice during the Windows loading.
It will enter repair mode which will also grant access to the advanced recovery options.
(If starting from the advanced recovery options is impossible, you need to create a bootable USB drive; there's a link on the previous page for that).

        More help:

Once there, go to Troubleshoot you can then try:

From the settings menu, restart Windows and go to safe mode WITH NETWORKING.
Return to normal mode hoping this will resolve everything.
