Philips 802 speaker issue

Hello everyone.
I retrieved my father's old Philips 802 stereo.
One of the speakers is crackling. I checked the connection at the back of the stereo. When I swapped the cables, the other speaker started crackling. So it must be the connection, if I'm not mistaken.
What should I do?

    Have you checked the condition of the cable? (Visible damage, exposed, etc.)

    I think you need a new cable.
