I have been carrying out hundreds of transactions with WU for years.

All the problems encountered (rare) have been easily resolved with their help.

But now, on the ultimate grid, when sending, the message appears: "A technical problem has occurred. Please try again later." with this code "C2201 [R1340]" .....and this has been the case for nearly three weeks.

Western Union cannot tell me what the error code displayed corresponds to???

Apparently, this issue is present on many other apps, according to various forums.
I work on PC, with Orange?

the at symbol is not taken into account and is replaced by *

I have the same problem. Western Union has been getting worse and worse for a few months. After a dozen attempts, I signed up with Money Gram.

Hello. I had some issues with a WU transfer, but the error message was related to my card. Even though there were no errors with the numbers on my card. So I removed all special characters from the transaction (dashes and especially accents that were in the names of the beneficiary) and then it worked!

No no! Not resolved to this day! I want to clarify that I tried to send from a post office and that also ended in a failed sending!!!

The recipient arguing that I had certainly reached my authorized annual quota?
If that had been the case, my contact at WU would have been able to answer me, I think. Moreover, I was far from my annual limit of 5000 euros!

I advise you to do like me, I switched to WorldRemit.
They have a multitude of partners in nearly 150 countries and several sending solutions.
I successfully made a transfer to Cameroon with cash withdrawal on site (in EBOLOWA) and another transfer to Madagascar (Tamatave) with deposit into a mobile wallet.
- Both transactions being perfectly framed with immediate warning of the funds being available to the recipient
- Furthermore, the first three transfers are free and I am about to make a transfer to Abidjan
I would add in closing that the sending fees are very low

PS: I will probably stay with them for a while, especially since the points accumulated on the MYWU card have been subject to somewhat questionable management here and there.

Every money transfer is assigned a tracking number (MTCN) that allows you to follow the progress of the transaction. I can't manage with my app anymore either; I was required to verify my identity because I had sent a total of 999 euros. I sent them my ID card front and back, but they asked for documents that are no longer given in Belgium. I've been trying to resolve the issue for a month, always getting different answers. My account is blocked; I go to the agency, but there are travel issues and no promotional code, and I'm feeling discouraged.

Personally, I gave up on WU, I switched to Moneygram for Thailand.
For now, 1 transfer only, it's okay, let's hope it lasts..........

Western Union requests the ID card and then sends a form to complete in order to justify all remittances. They provide no certainty regarding the possible reinstatement to be able to use Western Union again.

For my part, when I have to make an international transfer, I use "Transferwise," which is now called "Wise," and it is by far the best of all, with maximum exchange rates, minimal fees, and funds arrive in the account within a few minutes or even a few seconds on business days; if you make the transfer on the weekend, the funds arrive on Monday. However, please note that this service does not allow you to provide funds directly to the beneficiary (withdrawal at a counter like W.U.).
