How to connect a built-in webcam to a monitor

Hello,
I have an Asus G10AC PC and an Asus VK 248 monitor with an integrated webcam. (Windows 8.1)
I am connected to the monitor via an HDMI cable for both image and sound.
I just installed Skype and it cannot find the camera, nor the microphone for that matter (the camera probably doesn't have one).
In the PC, there is an Nvidia graphics card, and when I click on Nvidia settings, it tells me that I am not connected to the Nvidia card.
The PC has a DVI output and a VGA output.
How can I connect the camera and the microphone to the PC?
The camera is not detected in the device manager under imaging devices.
Thank you for the response.

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 80.0.3987.149

Thank you for these answers, there is no microphone on the screen according to the ASUS website. In my PC, I think there are two graphics cards, one on the motherboard and the other one is the NVIDIA.
I will try to connect a microphone when I get one to the output of my PC, which is a red jack plug, and see if it works.
    Thanks again.

Yes, indeed, the motherboard has a specialized circuit that manages video, usually in VGA...
And if you add another video card to the PC, it takes precedence over the one integrated into the motherboard..

They are a bit cheeky at ASUS... because they talk about having a conversation, that’s the word they use.... Without a microphone, I don’t see how... But oh well... it’s just business...

    Hello

You need to update the drivers and utility for your monitor HERE. (Choose the operating system).

Since a monitor is not a webcam, the PC "ignores" this feature.

    Best regards

    Hello,

I believe it only works with the HDMI connection... Not VGA or DVI... You should read the manual about this... https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/LCD%20Monitors/ASUS_VK248_UserGuide_French.rar

-- Does your Nvidia card have an HDMI output..??..
-- Is there maybe a specific version of HDMI cable to use..?
-- Otherwise, maybe you need to make a USB connection between the PC and the screen.?

-- There are drivers and utilities here https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/LCD%20Monitors/MultiFrame_V1_1_0_3.zip specific to the screen, maybe that's how it works..??

But it certainly does not work with VGA or DVI.

Hello and thank you for these answers. Indeed, I needed to make a USB connection between the PC and the monitor (I hadn't noticed the USB port under the screen). However, how do I connect the microphone (the monitor doesn't have a built-in mic)?
At the back of the monitor, there is a headphone jack and a microphone jack.
If I plug my mic into the microphone jack on the monitor, how does the mic get powered?
I've attached a photo of the back of the monitor

    Thank you for your response.

Ah... I think the webcam has a microphone... look, there should be a tiny little hole next to it, that's where the sound comes in... and it all goes through the USB. But I'm not sure if this webcam actually has a microphone...? Many microphones are not powered... the Piezo models, for example... There are two-pole and three-pole ones... it's not always straightforward.

Otherwise, there's a 3.5mm jack that should also be for audio???

It's possible that headsets (mic + headphones) work. I must say that these details are poorly documented...

Hello and thank you again for the response after several requests for assistance from ASUS (it's been a while) I have received some leads, for the microphone it should be connected to the PC output in principle the HDMI cable will carry the signal to the screen's speakers.
As for the video, there are indeed 2 graphics cards, one Intel (motherboard) and the other Nvidia.
I was advised to use the one from the motherboard as it has more memory. That sounds strange to me, but okay.
I'm going to buy a microphone and try, it should work well at some point.
    Thank you all

Well, there’s a bit of nuance… The microphone signal… Doesn’t go through HDMI… it comes from the motherboard of the PC… Goes into the software (Skype for example) and then travels over the internet line to come out of your correspondent’s speakers or headphones… It doesn’t go out through your speakers at all

-- The audio sound that comes out of your speakers is your correspondent's voice…

Well, that’s the principle, but I thought it was necessary to make this clarification.
