Windows 10 installation issue via USB key created with Rufus

Question

Hello,  I downloaded an image that I installed via Rufus on a 24 GB USB drive.  All of this to help a friend who had a problem booting his laptop  an Asus UX V32 netbook.  He had an error message on startup with a black screen saying "Bootmgr image is corrupted."  When I boot his PC with the USB stick created with Rufus, I see the nice Windows logo, then I'm asked to choose the language and install, and then I get "Starting installation" displayed and nothing happens.....  Since the drive is an SSD, there's no indicator light showing disk activity.... not practical to know if it's working or not...    Configuration: Windows / Firefox 74.0

Hello instead of doing "install", do "repair the computer" in the bottom left then from the command prompt format the disk after that, redo the installation

Thank you very much for your response. I will try. But the problem is that it’s a notebook without a CD drive, so I will need to transfer the content of your live CD to a bootable USB drive. Should I still use Rufus to create it? Finally, I succeeded in booting from the W10 USB drive, and when I try to repair, none of the options work. There is no information on a previous image or on a restore point. It is impossible to restore W7 by pressing F9 at startup. I assume that the installation with data preservation will fail and that only a complete installation has a chance of succeeding if the SSD is not damaged!  Best regards  Terminus72

Hello again,  I have a little problem; your WinPE is on Mega, and once it's downloaded, I can't find it on my computer... where is that little rascal hiding? Should I open my Mega to find it??  Thank you for your response.  Best regards.

Last little problem.... Booting from USB with Winpe iso....perfect....except that it shows the blue Windows logo and has been stuck for 2 hours.... I installed it on a 2 GB USB stick, could that be the issue?   Best regards  Terminus72

yes browse through the folders and copy what you can onto a USB key or external hard drive.  ~~    Reinstall Windows 10 without formatting:  The principle is to create a Windows 10 installation USB key and boot the computer from it to reinstall Windows without formatting in order to keep the data. Since the computer is frozen, you need to create it from another functional computer.   To create the USB key:  You need a USB key of at least 8 GB.  Create a USB key with Media Creation Tool: Download and create a Windows 10 USB key with Media Creation Tool  Boot from it by modifying the boot sequence and indicate the USB key or the DVD: How to boot the computer from USB key  If the key does not work, try making another one with Rufus: how to download Rufus.  Download the ISO file from the direct links or from Rufus: Download Windows ISO  Launch Rufus and then indicate the path of the ISO file  In partition scheme, choose GPT.
