Difference between TV socket and DATA socket

Hello,
I am retired and lack extensive knowledge in cabling and connections. My cable distribution box is equipped with two TV sockets and two DATA sockets. Can I connect my TV to any of them? Why are there two different designations?

    Hi,
    ask your distributor because it can vary depending on their technology; it's possible that their boxes filter certain frequencies on certain outlets, but in principle, it shouldn't make a difference.
    Anyway, you have nothing to lose by trying both.
