FTP/SFTP connection issues on 1&1 Solved

Hello,

For the past 2 days, I haven't been able to connect to my FTP. I'm using the latest version of FileZilla 3.47.1

I want to clarify that I haven't changed any of my settings. I even tried a Windows 10 restore, but it was unsuccessful.

I called my web host (ionos / 1and1), and they were able to connect without any issues on their end. I uninstalled and reinstalled FileZilla, but I'm still facing the same problem.

1- I tried on another PC with a wifi connection from my Freebox and it works!

2- I tried with my PC using a wifi connection from my Freebox and it doesn't work!

3- I tried with my PC using a shared connection with my 4G mobile data and it works!

I can't understand! Why doesn't it work with my PC when I use my Freebox?

Here’s what FileZilla displays. By default, the timeout is set to 20 seconds for connecting; I increased it to 2 minutes, but I still get the same error message below. The server name is correct, the username and password are correct. Why doesn't it work? It's a mystery, and I really need your expertise, please.

The error message:

Status: Connecting to home249*****.1and1-data.host...
Response: fzSftp started, protocol_version=9
Command: open "u49******@home249*****.1and1-data.host" 22
Error: FATAL ERROR: Network error: Connection timed out
Error: Could not establish a connection to the server
Status: Waiting before retrying...

I'm back to thank you for trying to help me; it’s really kind of you!
My problem was solved by doing a hard reset of the Freebox v6.

Yet, I haven't changed anything in the Freebox settings; it's still a great mystery... I'm definitely glad that it’s working again.

Hi, it's the right forum ... don't you have the Filezilla log? I think you forgot the messages. Based on that, I would bet it's a pesky firewall.  -- and ... There you go!

OK,
SFTP connection that isn't working then.
At first, I would say check if the box's address isn't blacklisted by 1&1
But if it still works (to be checked) with another PC, that contradicts
In terms of SSH, are you using the same account?

I'm using the same account and it works on my brother's PC; we're using the same Wi-Fi network from our Freebox, so the same IP address.

When I switch networks on my PC to my 4G mobile data, it works.

Regarding 1and1, I spoke to them on the phone and they didn't tell me that they blacklisted my IP address; they tried to help me but were unsuccessful.

Is it a port issue? I have no idea...

I would like to mention another software (maybe it's the same problem). I tried uTorrent (I don't know if it's taboo to talk about it here) to download a document that can't be found commercially, and guess what, it doesn't work; I downloaded another torrent and got the same result! DHT: waiting for identification. I'm thinking maybe it's the same connection issue as Filezilla.

I admit I'm completely lost; this happened overnight!

I don't understand either!

I just formatted my hard drive, reinstalled Windows 10, and the first software I installed was FileZilla. I tested it but I'm having the same problem! It's really incomprehensible!

I went to a website where you can access your FTP directly online (on their site) and I can do it without any problem (but it's not convenient) but through FileZilla, WinSCP, and Cyberduck, I can't connect at all.

I'm completely lost...

Could it be coming from the Freebox v6? Is my local IP address blacklisted? No idea :(

Hello!
I experienced the same thing this morning; I tried the hard reset of my Box as mentioned above, but with no result.
fzSftp started, protocol_version=9 and no longer access to the server via FileZilla. It happened during the transition of one of the domains to SSL. I tried looking on the FileZilla forum, but found nothing; FileZilla is well configured. I didn't want to go through the 1&1 web space, so I contacted them, but still no solution.
Finally, I created another user and put: home49*****.1and1-data.host as the host.
Eureka, it's working again. There you go, hope this helps!
