Hello,

A new Windows update just installed on my PC. Since then, every time I start my PC, a screen appears saying "Authenticate to save/restore MBR" followed by 3 options.
I don't know what this means and I don't want to be bothered by this message anymore. How can I make it stop appearing?

    Hi,

    Apparently, this is an HP message.
    But it must also indicate that the MBR is corrupted.

    Is that the case?

    Hello.

    As soon as you start and at the moment of entering the password, hold down the
    Shift key, click on the Power button (circle with a vertical bar)
    then on Restart, the system will boot into the WinRE recovery console
    Click on Troubleshoot -> Advanced options -> Command Prompt then type:

    bootrec /fixmbr (Enter key)
    bootrec /fixboot (Enter key)

    Restart.
