Hello,

Hello, I'm dealing with another hassle. My daughter made a big mess on her MacBook Pro, and it's impossible to reinstall anything, even after all these manipulations. The screen shows: "no package could be installed. Please contact the publisher....."
Even with a bootable USB drive with High Sierra on it.
Thank you for your help.
Configuration: Macintosh / Safari 13.0.5

Good evening,

your request is not really clear...

my daughter must have made a big mistake

- What kind of mistake? Knowing this might put us on the right track...

I'm dealing with another issue

- Another issue than what?

even after all these actions

- Which actions?

You should also provide all the useful details, for example:

- What is the exact model of the MacBook Pro, including its release date?
- What is the original OS version?
- Where did you get this High Sierra USB drive?
- How was this drive created?
- Where did the installation application used to create the drive come from?

- Have you attempted a re-installation from Apple’s servers, that is to say by starting the Mac while holding down these 3 keys:

alt cmd R

or even with these 4 keys:

Shift alt cmd R

This will cause a startup from a recovery partition installed on Apple’s servers, allowing you to install the original OS version or the last used version.
Note: this function is only available on not too old Macs...

Best regards.

Super! Thanks, it's true that I didn't provide too much info, but one of your responses helped me a lot: Maj alt cmd R
it's working again! Great!
