Hello everyone,
I have a Canon UC900E camcorder and it won't accept the tapes anymore. When there's no tape, it closes, and as soon as a tape is inserted, it ejects it.
I would like to digitize the tapes of my children when they were little.
I saw that canonmerci had published some photos for the procedure, but they are no longer online.
Does anyone have the photos or know how to handle this?
Thank you in advance.

Hello, I won’t pull the solution out of my hat. If you have concluded that your camcorder is properly connected and it doesn't accept a tape, then the mechanism is malfunctioning. Attempting to intervene is doomed to fail if you're not a specialist. Proposing it for repair is off the table given the age of the equipment. Your options left are to compare the price of a second-hand camcorder of the same format plus a Dazzle capture box (€60) if you no longer have a FireWire connection for transfer, along with a quote from a specialized company on the internet that offers to transfer your films to a provided USB stick or hard drive.
