    Hello everyone,

I'm reaching out to you after this period of research and reflection on the problem that was concerning me. Thanks to your help and advice, I've learned a lot of things that I was able to experiment with and accomplish.
In one of my responses, 13/20, I said that I could have cloned my 500 GB drive to a 240 GB one: now, I think not, the size difference would have been too significant for Macrium Reflect.

Indeed, after successfully completing this first cloning, I wanted to clone my laptop as well, but the HDD was 750 GB and I couldn't transfer it to a 480 GB SSD with Macrium; I did try to shrink the partition size using the option explained in the tutorial, but it didn't work or I didn't figure out how to use it.

I wanted to try with EaseUS Partition Master: since my version was quite old, I was advised to update it and there, to my great surprise, the new version remarkably worked by automatically resizing the partition without me having to do anything. I wanted to share this with you; it's the version "epm_free_installer-13.0.exe".

I think we can consider this problem solved for good.
Thanks again for your help and informed advice.
