Connecting Stanmore 2 speaker to LG TV Solved

Question

Hello, I can't connect my Stanmore 2 speaker to my LG TV. I've connected my TV to the speaker using an RCA cable, but there's no sound. Do I need an amplifier between the television and the speaker? Thank you in advance for your answers. Thierry

Hello to both of you,  The RCA connectors don't seem to be fully pushed into your converter.  They are angled, which shouldn’t be the case, and there’s too much visible “part,” so push a little without being too rough. Check if there’s the same issue on the speaker side. Being new, it might be a bit stiff depending on the manufacturing precision. Good evening, This speaker is powered, so there's no need for an amplifier. However, the RCA outputs from your TV must be inputs and not outputs. What is the full model number of this TV? And is the Aux input of the speaker a 3.5mm jack or RCA?  I call a spade a spade *      *in French in the text

Good evening, the TV model is LG 50 PV 250-ZA. The audio input for the speaker is RCA (1 white and 1 red).

Hello I received the DAC, I connected it to the optical output and linked it with the RCA but nothing is happening. I tried the audio menu on the TV but I don't see a solution. Thank you for your help Thierry

Yes, I plugged it into the USB port. The red light is on. I even tried my headphones on the output and I can hear the sound from the TV, but nothing from the speaker.

unplug the RCA from the DAC, turn the speaker volume to minimum, touch the central part of the RCA plug and increase the sound, you should hear a hum, if not, the speaker is malfunctioning and also try the Aux input (3.5mm jack with the Jack -> RCA cable)  -- I call a spade a spade *      *in French in the text

Your speaker and the RCA source are therefore not to blame, but what surprises me is that you have sound in the headphones when plugging into the DAC, so that one is also not the issue. Check if there might be a switch between headphone and RCA output. Otherwise, let's say that the RCA output of the DAC is malfunctioning and you should try connecting the speaker to the headphone output with this;  For connection to the RCA inputs of the speaker.
