Hello, I have a number of TS files (recorded with CapTvTy).
I would like to remove the minutes before and after the movie (saving space on my external hard drive).
I am looking for a free and fast software for this.
If possible in French...
Thank you for your help.

Yes, Avidemux is great, amazing... I've tried many others without success, problems of all sorts up to crashing!, and even with paid ones! for example, AVSVideoRemaker which desyncs the audio "unacceptable" for a paid software!
        • Avidemux is really easy to use, cuts at the beginning and end of the capture, but also in the middle.

It allows you not to re-encode .TS files using these settings:
    - Video Output: Copy
    - Audio Output: Copy
    - Output Format: Mpeg TS Muxer (FF)
... and remember to save these settings.

I just processed a good thirty files... no defects, no crashing, expected result "perfect".
Very happy to have finally discovered a software that does its job so well.

It's free... so, given the quality of the video output... consider making a donation, I think the developer would appreciate it.

    Hello.

I confirm that Avidemux is definitely the best free tool for the job. Just as a side note, it doesn’t save in .ts or .m2ts. The easiest and fastest way is to keep the audio and video outputs as Copy and to select the mp4 format for the output format.
The usage is very simple, and in case of an error, you can easily undo it. I retrieved a user manual in PDF created by Framasoft some time ago, but I can’t find it now. However, the forum does not allow attachment distribution. It was a free and redistributable document... But Avidemux is so simple and intuitive that it shouldn't pose any problems.

No, if we want to clean a .TS file already in HD 1920x1080, we are not going to compress it to MP4, sorry.
      In this case:
      - Video output: Copy
      - Audio output: Copy
      - Output format: Mpeg TS Muxer (ff)
and the file cleaned of its ads is saved without any re-encoding, so very quickly.

excellent software, fast and very easy to use.
      I recommend it
and it also allows you to keep the ts format, saving time on re-encoding
in short, about 5 minutes to remove ads before, during, and after a movie ...
      great
      thank you for your help

Removing before and after is simple. Ads during are always more troublesome; you have to spend time finding them. To rework the recordings I want to keep, I use tsdoctor which locates the ads in the recordings. But it's paid. Or if you have a stock of recordings and time, you can use it for a 30-day free trial.

Yes, finding the location of an ad in the middle of a recording is not easy... so I personally don't hesitate to stop as soon as an ad starts and restart (immediately) the recording before the film resumes. Ads are easy to remove.

So I have 3 files that I process individually with AviDemux.
File 1: Open ... cut at the beginning ... cut at the end and save as "film_1_edited.ts" ... Close AviDemux
        File 2: same ................................................................................................."film_2_edited.ts ... Close AviDemux
        File 3: same ................................................................................................."film_3_edited.ts ... Close AviDemux
        Open ... File_1_edited.ts
        Add...File_2_edited.ts
        Add...File_3_edited.ts
Audio ... Choose the tracks ... uncheck everything but French or Françai.
        Video Output: keep Copy
        Audio Output: MP3 (Lame)
Output Format: Mpeg TS Muxer (ff)
The recording only takes a few minutes!

I have tried a number of free and even paid software (which does not guarantee better quality!) ...
and AviDemux is really excellent, never a single crash, satisfactory ergonomics, options are more than sufficient,
it's very nice to work with...

A small note: I am currently recording the videos of "Camping Paradis" which I love. TF1 products, I must express my outrage
at the scandalous practice of now cutting films with 2 ads (yes, 2!) ... and it seems that in order not to create delays in the programs ... they simply shorten the film by about fifteen minutes so that the 1h30 becomes 1h15 ... of course, the ads (about 15) take 7 to 8 minutes ... OUTRAGEOUS!

Even better: purchasing an episode of Camping Paradis on MyTF1VOD ... payment ... starting the film ... oh, it only lasts 34 minutes and 09 seconds! instead of the 1h15 expected which corresponds to the first part before the first ad ... this is simply a scam ... I paid again for a download ... still 34 minutes and 09 seconds! and the email contact with TF1VOD remains unanswered! this is more than just a scam, it is well-organized theft!

If anyone is aware of a gathering aimed at taking action against TF1 ... I am with you!

        Good luck

Hello, you're stating the obvious without having read the other messages. JEE PEE already suggested it on January 10th.
