Mention in Instagram story

Hello,
A private account follows me on Instagram but I don't follow it back, in one of its stories, it mentions me but I don't have any notifications for that mention (I know this thanks to another account).
Is this normal because the account is private?
If not, how can I be aware of that mention (if I didn't have the other account)?

I have exactly the same issue as you... but I'm subscribed to the person who mentioned me. No notification! Nothing. I stumbled upon their story by chance. (And it happened to me a second time)
Moreover, I discovered that it happens the other way around too! Today I mentioned someone in my story, and I saw that they weren't replying to me. I sent them a message and they replied that they hadn't received any notification about my story!!! T-T I don't know how to fix this problem...
