Dropdown in a cell: it's not working, no small arrow

Hello,
I'm frustrated: I found out through forums and Excel help how to create drop-down lists. I properly create my list of options on a separate sheet (in table form or simple list, neither of which works). I correctly select the range of cells to which I want to apply the drop-down menu, then I go to "data" "data validation," then "list," and I make sure to check "in-cell dropdown," I take note of the message that appears when the cell is selected.
Then I select the data range (=Sheet2!$A$1:$A$7 ... I finally select with the mouse) then I confirm the selection and then confirm the general settings.
The cells indeed only accept A, B, C, or D and no other entry, but I don't have an arrow allowing me to display the drop-down menu.
Unfortunately, no useful research on the internet ///// HELP SOS HELP
A thousand thanks in advance

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 70.0

In return, the dropdown list seems to be working normally.

The same with a drop-down list in column S and changes to the titles CLOTURE and CLOTURE 2.

    Hello,
If the list of options is on another sheet, you need to name it, for example options, clients, etc.
Then you will use this name in the form =options, for example; instead of specifying the corresponding range in the form a1:a7.

      Thank you Eugène
Unfortunately, even like that, there's no arrow on the cells, but it's impossible to write anything other than what's included in the list.

Carefully erase the non-functioning dropdown lists using "Edit/delete all" and start again as indicated in my post; it should work.
In principle, you cannot enter a mention in a dropdown list that is not present; that's the purpose of this function to avoid entry errors. Unless there is some option somewhere that I am not aware of...

In the gray-filled cells of column R, they should display an arrow when selected or even all the time if possible. On sheet 2, the table should include the elements from the dropdown menu (or column AF of sheet 1 and AG for column S).
Thank you again for your responsiveness.

First of all, I would like to thank you for your help. I didn't do it right away because I was very busy with my work. Then I forgot.
Once again, a big thank you for giving your time to help me. I still haven't found the solution, but it's not a big deal. I ordered Excel for DUMMIES.

I take this opportunity to wish you a very happy New Year 2020 and a long and happy life so you can continue to help others as you do.
