Motherboard connection, case, power supply

Solved

Hello,
I am assembling a desktop PC for the first time.
When it comes to the connections, I have a few questions:
Motherboard = Asus Maximus IV GENE-2
Case = Aerocool CyberxAdvance
Graphics card = ASUS Direct CU II GeForce GTX 70
Power supply = Thermaltake Smart Series 600W

My difficulties: coming out of the case are 2 wires, one green and one white with a white connector at the end: where should I connect it?
also coming out of the case is a kind of 4-wire ribbon, ending with a 9-pin connector and the 10th port marked "Card Reader": where should I connect it?
on the case there are 3 fans, each having a 3-wire cable, which ends in 2 connectors: one slightly larger with 4 holes, and another smaller one with 3 small holes, where should they be connected? (is it to the motherboard pins "CHA FAN"?)
the graphics card has on top 2 connections 8+6, I connected the 8, but I still have another plug at the end of the wire that is 6+2. Should I connect the 6?

Thank you very much for your help and advice

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 70.0

Hello,

"My difficulties: coming out of the case are 2 wires, one green and one white with a white plug at the end: where should I connect it?"

Are you referring to the cables from the "Front panel"?

"Also coming out of the case is a kind of 4-wire ribbon, ending with a 9-hole plug and the 10th slot marked "Card Reader", where should I connect it?"

It should be the USB 2.0 from the front panel to be connected to the correct pins on the motherboard; refer to your manual or the internet for assistance.

"On the case, there are 3 fans, each has a 3-wire cable, ending with 2 plugs: one a bit larger with 4 holes, and another smaller one with 3 small holes, where should they be connected? (is it done on the motherboard pins "CHA FAN" ?)"

These fans typically come with molex adapters in case there are no more available plugs on your motherboard.

They connect here, be careful not to use the CPU Fan plug which is typically reserved for the heatsink fan.

"The graphics card has 2 connectors on top 8+6, I connected the 8, but I still have another plug at the end of a cable that makes 6+2. Should I connect the 6?"

What graphics card do you have? It is necessary, in any case, to connect the PCIE 6+2 power cables required by the card; if there are other excess PCIE cables coming from your power supply, that’s normal.

Hello, and thank you for this quick response.

Yes, indeed these 2 wires come from the front of the case.
I saw on the motherboard one USB header 910 where I plugged in the wire coming from the front panel, next to it there is another USB header 1112 that fits. This must be the power supply for the card reader from the front panel.

Yes, I have connected the CPU cooler to CPU FAN.
So I can connect the fans with the small connector to the motherboard headers marked CHA FAN, and the MOLEX connector is not used?

OK for the graphics card, only one connection (I assume the second one is for adding a second graphics card).

Thank you again for your help and the answers to my new questions.
Thank you.

CHA FAN means Chassis Fan, so case fan, so no problem. On other motherboards, it refers to the Sys Fan (system fan).

For the molex connector of the fans, it is usually an adapter of this type that allows you to power the fan directly from the power supply via a molex connector without going through the 3-pin connector on the motherboard, which is often occupied by other fans.
I think this is what you have on your case fans, to be confirmed.

"graphics card=ASUS direct CU ii GeForce GTX70" .

The reference is not complete. Could it be a GTX770?

Hello again, thank you for your replies.

OK for the fans, it's indeed this type of plug. I connected it to the fan channel, there were 3 available.
Sorry about the graphics card, it's a GTX 570.

Thank you for your help and advice.
Tonight or tomorrow ........I’ll power it on.

Sure, keep us updated :)

Speaking of the "GTX," I think you're actually referring to the "RX" 570 because the GeForce 570 is a bit outdated for today's gaming and is no longer sold.

Well, just like the motherboard in 1155 ;-)

So yes, it's indeed old and it doesn't run today's games, but hey, everyone does according to their means, right?

The GTX570, primarily the ASUS DirectCU II GeForce GTX570, does indeed exist. However, I have no information on how it is powered.

Good evening, everything seems to have started well. However, the graphics card doesn’t seem to be recognized and I can’t connect to the internet from my box, despite the Ethernet cable

Is there a cause and effect relationship, or are these two different problems, and how can I resolve them?
Thank you.

You need to install the drivers:

https://dlcdnwebsites.asus.com/maintain/web/500.html

you will need to choose Windows 8 for some drivers unavailable for Windows 10, including the ethernet network driver.

Hello and thanks for the information; I did indeed see the site, but since the internet wasn’t working, it still isn’t now.
I think I need to download it from another PC and put it on a USB stick and then load it. I think it’s the LAN file?
For the graphics card, it’s better now: I plugged in the two connectors, which I saw on a site, downloaded the update, and then connected the screen to the graphics card via HDMI.

The only problem .............for now ........... is getting internet with the Ethernet cable.
Thanks for your help.

Yes, it's the LAN driver.

For the graphics card, it needs to be installed in the PCIE x16 slot, connect the necessary power cables, then connect the screen to it and not to the motherboard so that Windows can initialize and then go search for the latest NVIDIA driver update online on the official website, of course after having installed the LAN driver to have network access; otherwise, it's impossible.
