Hello everyone,
It's a basic question, but my knowledge is even more basic.
I have a TV and a PS4. I want to connect them via ethernet, so I've run a cable from my Freebox.
Today I plug my cable into my PS4, and when I need it, I unplug it to plug it into my TV…
It's not ideal.
Is there a solution to have a splitter? I know that there are switches, hubs, and routers.
Is one of these three devices suitable for my needs? It's not very important, but I don't particularly care about having internet on both machines at the same time.
Thank you for reading, and for those who can, thanks in advance for your help!!
Have a great day.
Configuration: Windows / Internet Explorer 11.0

Hello,
The device you need is a switch. Like: https://www.amazon.fr/D-Link-GO-SW-5G-Switch-Gigabit-Ethernet/dp/B009TZE41I
Best regards

Thank you very much Jee pee! I'm going for it. Have a great day.
Good evening, I'm following up on this problem (which wasn't a real problem) that has been resolved. Thank you for these tips. I'm going to invest in the switch you mentioned.
I indeed want to get a switch to connect the TV decoder, the PS4, and finally the TV. Due to the layout of the house, the switch will be connected to a powerline adapter with only one RJ45 output.
Can you tell me:
If this connection is feasible?
If there won't be any loss of bandwidth?
If there's no need to switch between the decoder, PS4, and TV or if the flow is continuous?
Thank you for your valuable advice.

Hello, yes, a switch behind a powerline adapter allows you to multiply the Ethernet output. This is, for example, a setup that I use at home.
What limits this setup is the powerline adapter itself; Ethernet over the electrical network will be less efficient than a direct Ethernet cable connected to the router.

Hello Jee Pee, and thank you for your advice. Indeed, I've heard that powerline adapters can result in a performance loss compared to a good old Ethernet cable. On the other hand, so far I've been alternating between the PS4 and the TV decoder by manually swapping the RJ45 cable each time, but the connection is fine, at least for what I ask of it.
See you soon.
