Hello,

Since this noon, I can no longer open Google Chrome on my PC.

I have run CCleaner + Malwarebytes + a restore but nothing works.

It started with malfunctions: I couldn’t access some of my bookmarks while everything was working perfectly well this morning.

Do you have any idea what the problem might be please?

Thank you in advance.

Configuration: Windows / Edge 18.18362

    Hello.

Do not click on Google anymore. Open the task manager and stop all Google Chrome processes. There may be several of them. (Personally, I've had up to 6 in the list)

Then click on "This PC" >>> click on Local Disk (C) >>> Programs (x86) >>> Google >>> Chrome >>> Application

Normally Google will open in a window marked "YOU". Just click on it and close the restore windows offered by Google.

If this fails, install Reset Browser. It will reinstall Google Chrome without losing bookmarks or passwords. However, you will lose installed extensions.

    See you...

    To uninstall:

You have programs that were installed at the purchase of the computer or installed later that are not necessarily useful.
They clutter Windows and can slow it down.
    You can therefore uninstall them.
    Go to the Control Panel
    then programs and features.
    Uninstall:

Avast Free Antivirus - Leaves Windows Defender lighter and less annoying
    CCleaner
    Lenovo App Explorer

PS: CCleaner is not really useful, even though it's recommended everywhere.
If you want to keep it, disable CCleaner's monitoring; it starts up with Windows and slows it down with its incessant cleaning, see: https://www.malekal.com/supprimer-ccleaner-demarrage-windows/

    Repair the affected web browsers:
(do not use zoek and perform a manual reset)

Reinstall Google Chrome properly by following this exact procedure: Repair and reinstall Google Chrome properly
(If you have a synced account, read the following paragraph).

    ~~

To check your computer for potential infections and get a general state of the system:

Follow the FRST tutorial by clicking on this blue link. ( take your time to read carefully - everything is well explained ).

Download and run the FRST scan,
Wait for the scan to finish, a message will indicate that the analysis is complete.

Three FRST reports will be generated:
    • FRST.txt
    • Shortcut.
    • Additionnal.txt

Send these 3 reports to the site https://pjjoint.malekal.com/ and return the 3 pjjoint links to the reports here in a new response so that we can consult them.

(The blue links lead to step-by-step explanatory tutorials, click on them for more precise instructions to follow).

    Hello,

I uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome. It's working again, but I have an ad banner showing at the bottom of the screen that I didn't have before.

Here are the links generated by the scan of my PC:

I'm also taking the opportunity to ask what could replace CCleaner?
