Hello,
I have an Alcatel F 530 landline phone
I would like to cancel caller ID but the "hash" key is inactive, what should I do?
On my phone, there is a bell with a slash and the hash key next to it
Thank you for your advice.

    Hello
    What do you want?
Not to see the numbers of your contacts displayed on your device, or for your contacts not to see your number displayed on theirs?
Is your device connected to a box? at SFR?

    Good evening Baladur13
I would like my number not to appear on my correspondent's phone. Yes, I am on the SFR box, speak to you later.

    OK, so hide your number
    several cases then:
    • permanently
    • temporarily

    This is what SFR offers
    Excerpt from https://assistance.sfr.fr/internet-tel-fixe/tel-fixe/gerer-options-appels-box-thd-sfr.html
     I hide my number
The “permanent secret” is a feature that allows you to hide (or not) your landline number on your correspondent's screen.
You can use it temporarily or permanently, with the option to activate/deactivate it according to your needs.

To use the permanent secret temporarily, dial #31# before the number of the correspondent you wish to call.

If you do not wish to display your phone number permanently, dial *32#.

To deactivate the permanent secret, dial #32#.

To check the service status and thus know if it is activated or not, type *#32#.

These various procedures indeed use the #
What the phone screen displays when you briefly press the # key
Note that a long press cuts the ringer.

If the # key doesn't want to cooperate...
      back to the seller.

Hello, in fact, I just paid more attention, and when I press the key, a little zero appears, and as you pointed out, if I press longer, it silences the ringtone. So there must be a way to switch from silencing the ringtone to pressing the pound key. Any idea? Thanks.

When I press the key, a small zero appears
No action is required... A brief press should produce the # and a long press turns the ringer off or back on, that's how it's designed.

Are you sure about this "small zero"??

Yes, I'm sure about the little zero, and when I press it for a long time it either silences the ringtone or brings it back. I just tried again and I still don't have "hashtag", it's a mystery...
Tomorrow I'll go where I bought it, thank you for taking the time to respond to me, Baladur13, have a great rest of the day, best regards.
