Hello,
I need your help please. My printer, a HP DeskJet 1050A, used to print fine on Word, but not on Excel. For the past two days, I haven't been able to print on either Word or Excel, and I can't set it as the default printer.
I can't remove the printer or set it as the default printer. When I try to add another printer to replace the previous settings, an error message appears saying: Unable to complete this operation (Error: 0x000000709). Please check that the printer name is correct and that the printer is connected to the network. When I try to open the printer name to customize it, an error message appears saying: Unable to display printer properties. Access denied.
Please, I urgently need your help. Thank you.
Configuration: Windows / Opera Next 64.0.3417.92

Hello
do you have the correct drivers and software that correspond to your system?
if not, you will need to completely uninstall the printer via add or remove programs
download the entire software
then unplug the USB before reinstalling
you will only plug in the USB when prompted by the installation -
What system are you on, again, to start with? W7, W8, W10?

re
The drivers and software are here:
https://support.hp.com/fr-fr/drivers/selfservice/HP-Deskjet-1050A-All-in-One-Printer-series---J4/5068679/model/5068680
choose your system (32-bit or 64-bit from the list)
download them to a dedicated folder on the desktop
unplug the printer from the power source, go back to the control panel -> add or remove programs and uninstall it, also remember to close any programs that may be running that use this printer
if you are using Avast, disable it while uninstalling the printer
then plug the printer back in but keep the USB disconnected
install the downloaded software
I hope this works this way-
I don't see 32 or 64 bits here except for:
Product installation driver-software (2)

re
that's the one!
All-in-one HP Deskjet 1050/1050A series J410 - Full driver and software version 28.8 and 49.0 MB from August 16, 2014
if your system is 64-bit
the system choice is made just before:
Select another product
The detected operating system: Windows 7 (32-bit) Choose another operating system-
I see here they recommended to me: HP Deskjet 1050/1050A series J410 all-in-one printer - Full driver and software version 28.8 and 49.0 MB from August 16, 2014.
But I don't know where to find the operating system to change it, but now I see the notification informing me that Windows is requesting an update.

I suppose HP has detected your system, and therefore chose the appropriate software.
So download this software and as mentioned above,
unplug the USB before starting the new installation.
But you need to uninstall the printer in its current state.
For Windows, if an update is requested, please do it (before).
I will have to go to bed now, shall we continue tomorrow?-

Good evening Nadellen,
I've tried everything but so far nothing works; I still can't print on Word or Excel. I have updated Windows. And so far I can't either remove or add the printer as default. We always get an error message like yesterday. Thank you.

Try the following solution:
1. In the search box, type Run programs.
2. Select Run programs made for previous versions of Windows, then choose Next.
3. In the list of software, select Word, then click Next.
4. Click Troubleshoot program, then check the option The program requires additional permissions, then click Next.
5. Click Test the program, then try to print from Word.
6. Go back to the utility and click Next.
Note: The same procedure applies to Excel.
by the way, which version of Office are you using?
