Hello everyone,
My question is quite simple: how do I allocate more RAM to a video game (specifically Black Desert Online on Steam)?
There are many posts online addressing this topic, but they don’t offer any real (or any at all) solutions.
Indeed, I have 16GB of RAM, and the game only uses about 2.4 on average, while I have 9GB left unused.
I think it would be wise to reduce the idle resources within my setup.
Thank you in advance for your response, and have a good day.

Hello, fermiparadoxx is right.
In the 8GB of RAM recommended for Black Desert, this includes:
>the RAM used by Windows, which is 2 to 3 GB out of 8.
>the RAM used by occasional software like the web browser running in the background.
>but also the RAM potentially used by an iGPU/APU as VRAM
>and then the RAM used by the game itself, which you mentioned is about 2.4 GB on average.
If we add these 4 things together, the game indeed requires 8 GB of RAM in the PC.
