Good evening,
My PC sometimes goes to sleep without my wanting it to. This happens 1 to 2 times per week. It happened tonight around 8:59 PM. I was using the PC, I received a text message and replied for about 1 minute, and then the PC went to sleep.
It has even happened while I was using it.
The battery is over 50% and it is plugged in.
If I don't touch it for even 15 minutes, it won't go to sleep because I set a fairly long duration. So I don't understand why it goes to sleep sometimes.
In the Windows logs, under the "System" section, I see 2 pieces of information:
At 8:58:50
The process C:\Program Files\Acer\Acer Quick Access\QAAdminAgent.exe (Process ID: 9188) has reset the policy schema of {381b4222-f694-41f0-9685-ff5bb260df2e} to {381b4222-f694-41f0-9685-ff5bb260df2e}
At 8:58:53
The system is entering sleep.
Reason for sleep: System Idle
At 8:58:57
The system has exited sleep.
No idea if the event at 8:58:50 is linked...
Nothing else in the previous 10 minutes.
Do you have any idea what might be causing this problem?
Thank you in advance

Hi,
This is clearly a normal sleep mode after the time limit has been exceeded:
The system is entering sleep mode.
Reason for sleep mode: System Idle
Maybe this application can help you: https://www.malekal.com/winsleep-affiner-mise-veille-windows/
There are options and a log.

I'm just passing by, but from experience, a simple trick that sometimes works with Windows is to change the settings on anything else, apply, restart the PC, then revert to the desired settings; it rewrites the keys/settings and, with a bit of luck, it overwrites what was there before.

In the same style, there is also going into safe mode.
Sometimes it unlocks things.
Check if a BIOS update is available:

So using the mouse and clicking a lot on web pages doesn't prevent sleep mode? That's what I did, without using the keyboard.
What did you do before you started having these problems?
No driver updates with some automated software that messed things up?
I reset the settings to default in the power options but it doesn't really change much, in fact, regarding the timeouts.
In any case, the time it takes to write the text message is not enough to reach the inactivity duration, and it had already happened while I was using the PC.
But sometimes there's nothing for 2 weeks and I'm still using the PC in the same way.
This weekend, I even watched a DVD for 2 hours and the PC wasn't plugged in and didn't go to sleep. So logically, if I use it and then write a text for a minute, it shouldn't ever go to sleep.
but in the event viewer, it's still as if you've exceeded the threshold.
