Hello,
I just bought a second-hand phone (recent model) Spirit of Saint Louis Vintage.
I'm testing it at my workplace.
The phone is not powered. I plugged it into the wall phone socket (there's a box behind).
The phone only offers an RJ11 phone jack.
When I call, the phone rings...
But the LEDs don't light up and there's no dial tone.
When I pick up the receiver, there's obviously no sound.
The phone is this one: https://selency.imgix.net/862a6df6-d1bc-4658-86dc-6ef441286037/telephone-vintage-spirit-of-st-louis_original.png?bg=F5F5F5&fit=fill&auto=format%2Ccompress&w=579&h=475&meta_format=product_grey_main&fm=jpg
Any ideas? Not compatible with the box? Does it need a wall socket with a gigogne?
Or is the phone dead?
Thank you in advance,
iceman

Hello,
For a phone to work on the wall socket while a router is already connected, you need a non-unbundled telephone subscription.
In other words, two subscriptions: one for the phone and one for the router.
Furthermore, a “vintage” phone to function in emission (on the wall socket or router) must operate on voice frequency (necessary for dialing) and not on pulses.
That being said,
connected to a router, does
If the phone works for receiving calls, try resetting the router by cutting its power for one minute and then turning it back on...

- the phone work for receiving calls (ringing + you can hear the caller)?
- when you make a call, do you hear music while dialing the number?

It's very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
Especially when it's not there...
