Hello, I usually don't ask questions on this kind of forum, but I have a problem with the wifi. I want to tell you that I have no knowledge in IT but I have tried solutions proposed on existing forums.
I just moved into a student residence, I received the password and username via email to connect to the residence's wifi. Everything was fine on the first day; when I clicked on the wifi of my residence, a page opened on Google asking me to log in. The next day I tried to connect to the same wifi, no login page appeared, just a message saying that the connection is successful like yesterday. Except now, I can't access the internet; I'm connected to the wifi, but there is an exclamation mark next to the wifi icon and it says "open, limited."
The same phenomenon happens with my mobile phone; there's no internet connection despite being connected, even though I had access yesterday."
If anyone has a solution, I'm all ears.

Hello,
There isn't necessarily a solution; the problem is more related to your residence. It's not like the Wi-Fi with your home BOX... but rather a global access point for everyone in that residence... the rules are specific to the residence... you and your colleagues have to comply... That's probably the issue...
These connections allow you to read emails, connect to the university, and access the main websites... but often other data-heavy access is banned because it requires more expensive equipment and they also have to take responsibility for it... so it's prohibited.
Conclusion... no streaming movies, no online games... only one device connected per student, etc... I don't know your situation, but I can imagine that's how it is...
Imagine if 500 of you want to watch a video the same night... and others are surfing the web...
It's also possible that the semester hasn't really started yet, and the system isn't fully operational... It might also be down and will be fixed in a few days...
