RJ45 Internet Connection to HDMI

Hello,

I want to connect my Asus Transformer 3 Pro laptop (or tablet, depending on your point of view) to the internet via a cable (RJ45 coming from a powerline adapter).
I don't have an RJ45 port, and the USB-A 3.0 and USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports are already quite busy:
- A USB hub on the USB-A port to connect all my peripherals
- An external GPU (Aorus Gigabyte Gaming Box GTX 1070)

The solutions I could look into would be to use an RJ45 to USB-A adapter, but I'm afraid the speed will be very low due to going through a hub (either on the USB-A port or on the external GPU which also contains a hub, but this hub is quite unstable as priority is given to the GPU).
Or to use the HDMI port, but I don't know if that's possible and what the performance would be like.

To summarize, I have two questions:
- Is there a passive or active RJ45 to HDMI adapter for an internet signal?
- Is it possible to use an RJ45 to USB-A adapter on a hub and will it not limit the speed too much?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

the sockets of these devices are dedicated to a very specific function, it's not like a game of "Lego"

An HDMI is meant to connect a screen and not a RJ45 network connection...

A USB to RJ45 does exist. Let's say that by using Google, you can find it.
Here's an example where you have the choice https://www.cdiscount.com/high-tech/r-adaptateur+usb+femelle+rj45.html#_his_

That said, it's important to understand that not all adaptations are going to work at peak optimization, but it can be a temporary fix... A stack of adaptations is worse... here the USB Hub must have its own power supply; otherwise, the maximum current of the USB socket will not be able to power all of that.

There you go, the real situation.

Hello Jeannets, and thank you for your reply.

I suspected that HDMI would be complicated, but you never know, there are so many things I’m unaware of that it could have been possible.
As for my USB hub, it has its own power supply as it is integrated into my screen (which is itself directly connected to the external GPU).
