Fingerprint sensor failure on Xiaomi Redmi S2

Hello everyone,
For about a month, I've been having an issue with my fingerprint sensor that is used to unlock my phone. It is completely unresponsive. Normally, if my finger is misaligned or dirty, the phone vibrates to indicate that it detects pressure but something needs to be adjusted. Now, nothing. No vibrations and the sensor is not working at all. At first, when this started, simply restarting the phone would make it work again. But I've done that several times in the past few days and nothing helps.
Do you have a solution that doesn't involve resetting my phone?
Thanks in advance!

Absolutely not. I'm just focusing on setting the password now…

A bit the same, I now use facial recognition but it's silly to have a button on the back of the phone that serves no purpose anymore ????

the vast majority of high-tech devices are only used to 10% of what they can do...

as for your button, I don’t have a solution...
