Hello,
My computer has been slow for several months now, and this is due to the fact that the disk is often saturated, most often by the system process. Typically, here's what I can see in the task manager:
In the resource monitor, I see that the two files using the most disk are swapfile.sys and pagefile.sys:
From what I understand, swapfile.sys allows more memory to be allocated by using the disk?
My open applications at the time of this screenshot: Firefox with about ten tabs, Adobe Acrobat Reader with a PDF document, and Excel with a document as well.
I have already tried some tips I found online, such as disabling SuperFetch or disabling Telemetry, without success. I do not have any antivirus other than Windows Defender. My computer is starting to get old (6 years old, it seems to me).
I partitioned the hard drive about a year ago to install Linux in dual boot, could that be the problem?
My computer runs on Windows 10 64-bit, with the following specifications:
Thank you in advance,
Configuration: Windows / Firefox 66.0
