Add colors to the plans

Hello,

I am working with drawings in AutoCAD 2014 on a 64-bit machine. How can I apply colors to the areas of the drawings? For example, if I have a hallway, I would like to make it yellow, etc.
Previously, I used AutoCAD 2013 on a 32-bit machine and I could do this by loading plugins, but those plugins do not work on a 64-bit machine.

    Hello,

    unlike other technical drawing software (for example Vectorworks), AutoCAD is not really made for handling fills. The best thing to do is to export your drawings to PDF and then do your shading in a bitmap drawing software.

      Isn't there a way to use textures for filling in Autocad?
      I sometimes get PDF files of technical drawings from Autocad, and sometimes the surfaces are filled with something horrible to transform (for my use) when they are in color...

        it is indeed possible to fill shapes with solids, gradients, or hatches.
        Hatches are clearly suited for technical drawing, but when exporting the DWG to other applications, you can quickly run into issues as each hatch element becomes an object.
        Gradients and solids may pose fewer problems, but in AutoCAD, they can increase the file size, and it’s clearly not the solution for rendering line drawings.
        You’re getting DWGs into Illustrator, I imagine?

      Personally, I ask my clients to create PDFs from their software.
      The PDF indicates the conversion engine, that's how I know the source.
      I process the PDF directly for printing and modify it if necessary with Pitstop.
      I'm not a fan of Illustrator... I prefer Corel!!

      Thank you for your response. In fact, I can create color plans without any problem with Autocad 2013, but what I wanted is to be able to do it in Autocad 2014. There are plugins that allow me to do this in 2013, but those do not work with version 2014.
