Stolen brand new phone

Hello,

Yesterday, as I was leaving the baker's, where I had just bought a phone, Samsung Galaxy A7, my phone was stolen (I'll spare you the details) - it was new and still in blister - do I have a way to block the phone? Can the retailer provide me with the phone's IMEI? Does the IMEI have any utility? I'm not necessarily looking to track the phone because I wouldn't know what to do with that. But I just want to prevent the thief from being able to use my phone.

Thank you.

    Hello

Is the IMEI on the invoice? I don't know if sellers record that reference. The best thing to do is to ask them.
If so, you obviously need to file a formal theft report. Usually, it's the operator who blocks the phone, so let's see if they can do it since the phone is new and I imagine never connected.

    Best regards

    Hello!
The IMEI of a phone is actually its identifier. From the IMEI, you can locate the phone.
Unfortunately, you weren't lucky... But I advise you to see the seller of your phone, ask them for the IMEI of the phone, and also for a proof of purchase.
With the proof of purchase and the IMEI number, go to the police station and report the theft of your phone.

Keep me updated about the phone, in a private message if you don't want everyone to see it.
If you still haven't found your phone, I suggest we locate it.

Anyway, good luck, hoping you find your phone!

How can you locate a phone that has never been started and where the location has not been deliberately activated?
      What method would you use?

Know that everything is possible. If the FBI can locate a fly, I can locate a phone!
Simply, we just have to wait for the device to be turned on! And I doubt the guy stole it to leave it in a corner of his place!
