Good evening everyone,
I just bought a 2004 Golf 5.
I don't know how much horsepower it has because I haven't received it yet. After trying it out, I realized that the sound it produced was really not clean, and I can't stand that.
The problem is that I would like to change the car stereo, to have one with at least Bluetooth (since it's a 2DIN), and maybe change not all the speakers but at least the bigger ones to get good sound. However, I don't know which car stereo to choose because I see everywhere that it says 4x50w, but on the speakers I've seen, it says 110w. I know there’s something about RMS, but I can't understand what I should get.
I was thinking of going for this type of car stereo
https://www.amazon.fr/Interface-tableau-voiture-multimédia-Bluetooth/dp/B01HUMTGF0?ref_=mw_olp_product_details
But I don't understand what power it has, and especially, I would like to avoid buying speakers that will never use all their power.
Best regards and thank you in advance for your responses.

Hello, the RMS power is the real power (the max power is the power for a very short moment) a 4X50 unit delivers about 4X22 RMS. For your speakers, the 110W is max, or even PMPO, so certainly around 40 W RMS at best, or even less.
You need to understand that if you take a unit that's too weak, you'll damage the speakers due to sound saturation.
If the unit is too strong (unlikely), you'll smoke the speaker coils.
So for the speakers, there's no need to go for crazy power levels (unless you plan to add an amp). As for the unit, I don’t know this model, but it should do the job.
