Hello,
Since yesterday my printer is not responding when I request to print a document from my computer.
I am connected via a USB cable
The scanner works from my computer with the cable.
The photocopy function directly on the printer also works.
So the printer itself is not the issue.
However, the following message appears in the printer window
<The printing task cannot be sent>
"Click the [Check Connection] button to check the connection with the printer, a new connection attempt will be automatically initiated.
Make sure the printer is powered on, then click the [Check Connection] button.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Configuration: Windows / Chrome 72.0.3626.121

Hello,
it seems that the USB port assigned to the "Printer" is no longer connecting.
What is the version of Windows..??
This printer also connects via Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct... could it have switched to this other type of connection (which is not working)..??
Try different USB ports on the PC and make sure that the connection is indeed USB.
Go to "Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers" === "Printer Properties" on the Ports, check if it is indeed USB..??
Is it the only printer..?

Thank you for taking the time to read my question and respond.
- The version of Windows? My laptop is 3 years old, and I use Office 2016, so you should be able to deduce a version of Windows; in any case, it is recent.
- I have only one printer: EPSON XP-635
Port assignments
USB1: EPSON XP-630 Series
USB2: EPSON5A4625 (XP-630 Series)
Why these 2 ports? I assume one is for the scanner, the other for the printer?
- The printer is indeed set as default.
- This morning I "Removed/Added" this printer.
I use a USB cable because I have never managed to connect it to my box. And that doesn't bother me.
I tested the 3 USB ports on the computer with the mouse; they work well.
As mentioned, the Epson scan software loads perfectly, and the scanner works and saves the file as pdf or jpg.
The copy function of the printer also works.
It is only (and especially) the sending of print files from the computer to the printer that does not work!
I printed the day before yesterday; everything was fine.
I admit that the Epson scan software crashes sometimes, but the printing function has never let me down.
There you go, doctor,
Diagnosis: should I buy a new printer?
Have a good evening and a good week.
Berthold
Here is the site for your printer driver https://www.epson.fr/support?productID=15973#product_search
But you should make sure to know your version of Windows, as the Epson site will ask for it; and the driver is adapted to your version of Windows...
So, I advise you to uninstall your printer from your PC properly... disconnect the USB cable... restart the PC... install the driver you have downloaded... and plug in your USB cable when prompted... and continue with the installation...
