Agenda notification Thunderbird.

Hello,

I am using Thunderbird 60.5.0 with Lightning 6.2.5 and I am on Windows 10 Home Version 1809.

For a while now, I have been receiving a notification of an upcoming event from my calendar on my lock screen (where Windows displays the date and time at startup). I don't like this at all.

So I went to Settings/System/Notifications & Actions. I disabled everything related to showing notifications on the lock screen. Then, in the "Get notifications from these senders" list, I disabled Calendar.

But I still receive the notification of an event on the lock screen.

I thought that the Calendar I disabled must not be Thunderbird's calendar but rather another one native to Windows, and that Thunderbird's calendar must be sending its own notification.

My problem is to be able to tell Thunderbird (Lightning) to stop sending notifications, but I don't know how to do it: The list of these senders seems to be fixed: I see no way to add or remove an application. Yet, it seems logical to add Thunderbird to that list.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Thank you for your help.

    Hello Alainlebassoniste,

Just disable notifications via Tools / Options and uncheck those boxes!

Hello Serbal22 and thank you for your response.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work. Indeed, it affects the alarms in Thunderbird, not the lock screen (of Windows):

If we uncheck Show an alarm box, the alarm box (a small window indicating the alarm that Thunderbird titles as reminders depending on the number of reminders displayed) no longer appears in Thunderbird. If we uncheck Show missed reminders, the alarm box does not appear in Thunderbird if the alarm start time has passed. For example, it’s 6 PM, if I create an alarm for 5 PM, it will show if Show missed reminders is checked and it will not show otherwise.

If I create an alarm (event) called Test from 6 PM to 6:30 PM and restart my machine at 3 PM, I see
      Test
      6:00 - 6:30 PM
below the date and time on my lock screen, which can also be called the startup screen. You have to press Enter on this screen to enter the password to complete the Windows startup.

It’s this notification on the lock screen that I’m trying to remove. I obviously need reminders in Thunderbird.

I have tried to disable several notifications in Settings/System/Notifications and actions, but I haven’t succeeded.

      Your problem is becoming incomprehensible!
      - Your discussion thread is titled "Thunderbird calendar notification"
      - You are asking not to receive these notifications
      - I’m telling you how to stop receiving notifications from the Thunderbird calendar
      - You then come back to say "I obviously need reminders in Thunderbird"!!!

You need to clarify what you mean by "Thunderbird calendar notifications!!!"
An screenshot would be more informative.

There is nothing to adjust in the system settings regarding notifications from the Thunderbird calendar because it is Thunderbird that sends them, not the system.

In fact, there are two kinds of Thunderbird calendar notifications.
The first occurs within Thunderbird with the appearance of reminders. I want to keep that.
The second goes from Thunderbird to Windows, displaying something on the lock screen.
It’s this second notification that I want to remove.

Here is a screenshot of that lock screen:

Evening medications/Movicol is an event created in the calendar from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM, and I don’t know how it appears on the lock screen.

In Windows system settings (Notifications and Actions), there is a list of applications (called Senders) for which notifications can be disabled. But Thunderbird is not listed there, and I don't see how to add it.
