Resetting Galaxy S6 Edge

Hello,
I have a Galaxy S6 Edge that I forgot the access code for (alphanumeric, not the pattern).
I tried to reset it using the instructions found on this forum:
Volume Up + Power + Menu for 12 seconds, then navigate with Volume to wipe data/factory reset, etc.
But I get the reboot screen (Power Off / Restart / Emergency Mode) and then it turns off.
I have tried several variations (release Power or Menu or Volume Up…) with no success.
I restarted the phone from the home menu (going through the Samsung then SFR logos) but nothing better.
The Samsung manual gives no indication (it only suggests resetting from the phone, so you need access to it).
Thanks to anyone who can provide me with the procedure (other than going to Samsung).

Hello

High Volume + Power + Menu 12 s
The operation is not correct.

Hard reset with the mobile turned off

Press and hold the volume + button, the Home button, and the Power button simultaneously.
Wait for the mobile to turn on and display the Samsung logo.
Release the Power button while keeping the Volume + and Home buttons pressed.

The Android System Recovery menu appears:

Release all the buttons.
Select Wipe data/factory reset using the volume - button to navigate through the menu.
Confirm this choice by pressing the Power button.
Select Yes using the volume - button to navigate through the menu.
Confirm this choice by pressing the Power button.
Wait for the next menu to appear.
Select Reboot System Now using the volume - button to navigate through the menu.
Confirm this choice by pressing the Power button.
Allow the mobile to reset; the operation takes some time, the PIN code will be requested at the end of the operation, then the mobile will start its boot phase (activation) as during its first setup. All email accounts or codes and device lock modes will need to be redefined.

Good evening Madmyke and thank you for your response.
After further research (after sending my question), I noticed that the procedure indeed applies to the powered-off mobile. That's not my case; the device is running, and I can't turn it off because after a long press on Power followed by tapping Off (on the screen), it asks for the password... which I no longer have.
I also tried a forced shutdown procedure Volume down and Power, but it is only valid when it won’t start anymore while the battery is charged or if the screen is frozen and a long press on the Power button has no effect.
I'm now letting the battery drain (with the flashlight on) to recharge and use your procedure. But if you have a more elegant (and quicker) idea, I would gladly take it.
Thank you again and have a good evening.

I indeed let the device discharge, then I applied your procedure. Everything went well, I took the opportunity to set up the Google and Samsung accounts just in case… So thank you for your help.
I have since encountered another issue: the phone seems to no longer charge and is not recognized by SmartSwitch. Could this be related to the reset? I will search and open another thread if I find nothing.
Thanks again for your help.

In principle no, for the load issue, unless an update is necessary (and in that case it won't be delayed).

And if it is also not recognized by smart, I would first lean towards a USB cable issue.

And it's his sister who sold the Galaxy S6 to my boyfriend, I tried all the passwords and it doesn't work.
