No more "pause" function on YouTube

Hello,

Configuration : Macintosh / Chrome 67.0.3396.87

My problem seems very simple, but I don't know where to look to solve it:

when I'm watching a video and I need to click pause, the "pause" symbol appears but the video keeps playing. If I click again, the "play" symbol shows up and the video still continues.

Sometimes, the video progress stops, and if I change the video quality (to a lower one), the video goes back to the very beginning. If I refresh the YouTube page, the same thing happens; the video goes back to the start (or a point far ahead in the playback).

I don't know how to fix the problem since it's not "fixed." Sometimes the video plays just fine and doesn't stop, and if I hit pause, everything works fine. So it’s "sporadic."

Could this simply be related to a bad playback format? Or to cookies? Or to a driver?

I want to clarify that the problem first appeared about a week ago and I don't have a new computer. I have a MacBook Air.

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read this! :)

try to press the letter "K" during your video

Thank you, it seems to have worked. Since then, I haven't had any issues.
What is this shortcut? Does it just replace the space bar?
